Jerez Arquitectos Transforms Historic Corner Bar into Dental Clinic in Burgos

architecture-design · 2026-08-18

Jerez Arquitectos has finalized the Clínica Dental Ximena Casado, a 162-square-meter dental facility located in Burgos, Spain, which has repurposed a former bar. The project, overseen by Enrique Jerez Abajo and Rebeca Piedra Dueñas, took shape between 2021 and 2025. The design cleverly adapts to the low ceiling height, offering a variety of spatial experiences. A transparent curtain wall graces the pedestrian level, while the nearby facade ensures ground floor privacy yet allows natural light to filter in above. Accessed from Calle Clunia, the clinic features a reception area with varying ceiling heights, a waiting space oriented towards surgery rooms, and a multifunctional large table. Collaborators Paula Hierro Peña and Clara Alonso Martín contributed to blending industrial systems with traditional craftsmanship, with photography by Iñaki Bergera.
