Jeremy Stowe resigns from West Kowloon Cultural District Authority after police visit and extended leave
Jeremy Stowe has resigned as chief of projects at the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority following an extended absence that began after law enforcement officers visited on May 12. The WKCDA confirmed his departure while stating that Norman Heung Yuk-sai, former deputy director of civil engineering and development, will continue as interim replacement. Stowe joined the authority in March 2012 as head of construction project management, was promoted to director of project control in 2016, and became chief of projects in January 2019 overseeing all design, construction, and project management. Although he reportedly returned to his office the day after the police visit, he had not worked since then. The organization told HK01 that Stowe took leave for personal reasons, with unclear connection to the law enforcement visit. WKCDA assured that operations would not be affected by his absence. His resignation follows other high-profile departures including CEO Duncan Pescod in October 2020 and artistic director of performing arts Alison Friedman in April 2021. The authority is now seeking a permanent replacement for the position.
