Jeremy Nedd's 'from rock to rock...' premieres at Walker Art Center with international collaborators
On April 24 and 25, 2026, Jeremy Nedd will showcase 'from rock to rock... aka how magnolia was taken for granite' at the McGuire Theater in Walker Art Center. This 75-minute performance will incorporate haze effects and provide audio description services on Saturday. Nedd, who received the Swiss Performing Art Award in 2023 and the Ellis Beauregard choreography award in 2025, collaborates with artists Brandy Butler, Nasheeka Nedsreal, Zen Jefferson, and Jeremy Guyton. Technical direction is handled by Sebastian Sommer, with choreographic support from Caroline Froelich. The piece debuted on September 14, 2023, at Kaserne Basel, co-produced by De Singel Antwerp and Gessnerallee Zürich, with backing from Fachausschuss Tanz & Theater BS/BL. The Walker honors the ancestral lands of the Dakota people.
