Jeremy Mayer's Typewriter Sculptures

Jeremy Mayer, a San Francisco-based sculptor, creates intricate sculptures using disassembled typewriters. His fascination with these machines began in childhood, admiring his mother's typewriter and imagining its components. As an adult, Mayer has produced hundreds of sculptures exclusively from typewriter parts, depicting living beings such as animals, insects, and humans. He explains that typewriters require human activation, and their components resemble natural elements like plants, cellular structures, and feathers. This realization guided his artistic direction.
