Jenny Holzer creates pro-Hillary Clinton videos for US election

In support of Hillary Clinton's bid for the presidency in 2016, Jenny Holzer has created two videos featuring animated quotes from her speeches. The selected phrases include: "When women participate in peace processes we are all safer, safer"; "In my view you are not fully human, fully civilized if you do not recognize the humanity in all"; and "I believe that the rights of women and girls represent the unfinished business of the 21st century." One video envisions these statements as milestones for a potential Clinton administration. Holzer, known for her Truisms from 1977-1979, joins other artists like Carrie Mae Weems and Cruz Ortiz in endorsing Clinton. A fundraising auction for her campaign took place in New York in September 2016, featuring notable artists and Chelsea Clinton as a witness. Anti-Trump artworks include Brian Andrew Whiteley's "Made America Hate Again" tombstone and others.
