Jeffrey Kahane Launches Harmonium of Texas in San Antonio
Jeffrey Kahane, former music director of the San Antonio Philharmonic, is set to launch a new orchestra named Harmonium of Texas this fall. This initiative aims to unite musicians from San Antonio and nearby regions. The inaugural season will feature prominent performers like Joshua Bell, Emanuel Ax, and Tommy Mesa, alongside collaborations with various ensembles, including the Grammy-winning Roomful of Teeth. Kahane will also conduct a performance of "Carmina Burana" on October 2 with the San Antonio Mastersingers. The season, consisting of nine concerts, will take place at venues like Lila Cockrell Auditorium, with tickets available starting July 27.
