Jeff Koons Documentary Premieres at Rome Film Fest

The 18th Rome Film Festival (Festa del Cinema di Roma) is screening a documentary on Jeff Koons directed by Pappi Corsicato. The film, titled "Jeff Koons. Un ritratto privato," will be released in Italian cinemas by Nexo Digital on October 23, 24, and 25, 2023. Corsicato's documentary aims to reveal the private man behind the public artist, exploring Koons' childhood wonder, his passion for classical and Renaissance art, and his veneration for Italy. The film delves into Koons' creative process, including his Glazing Balls—blue glass spheres placed before reproductions of artworks that reflect both the viewer and the art. Koons discusses his daily life on his Pennsylvania farm, where he raises cows and horses, plays billiards with his children, and shares their dreams. The documentary goes beyond a typical art documentary to offer an intimate portrait of Koons' psyche and his transformation of everyday objects into art.
