Jeff Koons at Versailles: Playthings in the Royal Apartments
Jeff Koons selected only objects for his autumn 2008 exhibition at the Palace of Versailles: enlarged metal, painted wood, and porcelain versions of toys and entertainment industry products, plus a marble self-portrait. Notably absent were the pornographic photographs from the Made in Heaven series, advertisements for alcohol and luxury brands, and recent paintings that collage advertising and tourist snapshots. Technical reasons may explain these omissions.
