Jeff Buckley Documentary 'It's Never Off' Hits Italian Cinemas for Three Days

A new documentary on Jeff Buckley, titled 'It's Never Off: Jeff Buckley', will be released in Italian cinemas from March 16 to 18, 2026, distributed by Nexo Studios. Directed by Amy Berg, known for 'Deliver Us from Evil' and 'Janis: Little Girl Blue', the film features co-production by Brad Pitt, a fan of the late singer. It includes never-before-seen archival material from Buckley's personal collection and intimate testimonies from his mother Mary Guibert, former partners Rebecca Moore and Joan Wasser, and former bandmates. The documentary premiered at the Sundance Festival and the Rome Film Festival. Buckley, who died in a drowning accident on May 29, 1997 at age 30, left a lasting legacy with his album 'Grace'. The film explores his life within the cultural context of 1980s and 1990s New York. Previous documentaries about Buckley include 'Jeff Buckley: Fall in Light' (1999), 'Jeff Buckley: Everybody Here Wants You' (2002), 'Amazing Grace: Jeff Buckley' (2004), and 'Grace Around the World' (2009).
