Jean-Michel Jarre announces 2025 Italian season with AI-driven installations and concerts

On April 11, 2025, at MEET Digital Culture Center in Milan, French composer and artist Jean-Michel Jarre (born 1948 in Lyon) unveiled his Italian season for 2025, spanning May to November across Milan, Venice, and Pompeii. The program includes the immersive installation Oxyville at the 19th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, curated by Carlo Ratti, exploring 3D audio and architectural space. MEET will host Promptitude, Jarre's first exhibition of visual works, featuring AI-generated portraits created through text prompts and the generative sound composition Eōn. Two concerts are scheduled: July 3 in Piazza San Marco, Venice, and July 5 at the Pompeii Amphitheater. Jarre described AI as a "brush 3.0" and emphasized the need for rules to govern intellectual property, comparing the current moment to the Wild West. Maria Grazia Mattei, founder and president of MEET, coordinated the artistic direction. The season concludes in November at MEET with a finissage presenting a collective prompt based on visitor experiences.
