JD Malat Gallery Opens Dubai Space with Group Exhibition Carte Blanche
JD Malat Gallery has opened its second venue in Dubai, creating a link between Europe and the Middle East. The founder, Jean-David Malat, established the London gallery in 2017 after extensive experience as a private advisor and in commercial galleries. The new location on the Boulevard in Downtown Dubai was selected for its high foot traffic and closeness to other galleries. An exhibition named Carte Blanche, showcasing 14 represented artists, will be on display until 1 March. Featured artists include Kojo Marfo, Conrad Jon Godly, Santiago Parra, and others. Malat intends to highlight unrepresented artists in the region while scouting local talent for international promotion. The gallery had success at Abu Dhabi Art last year and plans solo exhibitions and participation in international fairs like Zsonamaco México Arte Contemporáneo in February. Malat stresses the importance of supporting young regional artists beyond social media.
