Jasmin Werner's 'Scarecrow Tactics' at Viborg Kunsthal

The solo exhibition 'Scarecrow Tactics' by Jasmin Werner at Viborg Kunsthal delves into themes of migration, borders, and the regulation of movement. Utilizing the scarecrow as a central theme, Werner critiques European migration policies, focusing on issues of temporariness and bureaucracy. The installation features a sound work by Bradley Davies, inspired by agricultural deterrent methods, alongside The Net (2016), a green safety net that organizes movement. Enlarged seed casts emphasize ecological processes affected by cross-border migrations. 'Scarecrow Tactics' questions the notion of 'native,' highlighting its historical context. Werner, a German-Filipino artist, has studied at HfG Karlsruhe, Gerrit Rietveld Academie, and Städelschule, showcasing her work globally.
