Jarboe and Kill Your Boyfriend Discuss Art and Music in Dual Interview

Artribune publishes a dual interview with American singer-songwriter Jarboe and Italian post-punk duo Kill Your Boyfriend, exploring their definitions of art and music. Jarboe, known for her versatile voice and experimental melodies, joined Swans from 1985 to 1998, bringing a folkier edge to their noise rock. She has collaborated with Neurosis, Blixa Bargeld, Jozef Van Wissem, and others, and performed in clubs, theaters, galleries, museums, and cathedrals. Her favorite visual artwork is Mark Rothko's Black on Dark Sienna on Purple (1960) at MOCA Los Angeles. Kill Your Boyfriend, formed in Venice in 2011, blends Suicide's electronics with Jesus and Mary Chain's noise guitars, citing Joy Division and Velvet Underground as influences. The duo, consisting of Matteo Scarpa (vocals/guitar) and Antonio Angeli (drums), has toured Europe opening for Zola Jesus and The KVB.
