Japanese street artist Twoone creates mural at Osimo market

artist · 2026-05-04

Japanese street artist Twoone, born Hiroyasu Tsuri in Yokohama, has completed a mural titled 'New dawn, New day, New life' at the covered market in Osimo, Italy, built in the 1930s by architect Carlo Morelli. The work was produced during an artist residency promoted by the municipality of Osimo with artistic direction by PopUp Studio, which has produced over 40 works by international artists in unconventional locations across the Marche region. Twoone, who began making graffiti as a teenager and later moved to Melbourne, Australia, where he learned from local writers and street artists, drew inspiration from the local landscape and the Museo di Scienze Naturali Luigi Paolucci in Offagna. The mural features a peregrine falcon on the ceiling, with goldfinches and swallows on side walls, all rendered in a pixelated effect due to the coffered ceiling. The artist described his style as gestural and positive, emphasizing collaboration with PopUp Studio and the MAC team. The project is part of POPUP! Arte Contemporanea nello spazio urbano, an open-air museum in the Marche that now includes over forty works. A video documenting the creative process was made by director Mattia Fiumani.
