Japanese duo we+ creates immersive installation for Elica at Milan Design Week
Elica, the Italian appliance company renowned for its innovative methods, will showcase an installation by the Japanese design studio we+ during Milan Design Week's Fuorisalone. Founded in 2013 by Toshiya Hayashi and Hokuto Ando, we+ presents 'Straordinaria' in the courtyard of Palazzo Litta, located in the 5 Vie cultural district, from Monday, April 15 to Sunday, April 21. For over 50 years, Elica, headquartered in Fabriano and a leader in kitchen hoods, collaborates with Fondazione Ermanno Casoli (FEC) for this project. The immersive installation, inspired by the ethereal nature of clouds, aims to evoke sensations of air and warmth. Artistic director Marcello Smarrelli emphasizes the shared value of experimentation with Elica. we+ has garnered multiple accolades, including the FRAME Awards 2023 Furniture of the Year.
