January 2023 Art Highlights: Singh's Hasselblad Award, Sami's Trauma Paintings, and Indigenous Film Survey
Dayanita Singh has been awarded the 2022 Hasselblad Award, marking her as the first South Asian photographer to receive this honor. Her exhibition, 'Sea of Files,' is on display at the Hasselblad Center in Göteborg until 22 January. Mohammed Sami's artwork, reflecting his childhood in Baghdad, will be showcased at Camden Art Centre in London from 27 January to 28 May. The Karrabing Film Collective's exhibition at Haus der Kunst in Munich is available from 27 January to 30 July 2023. In Lima, 'Mothers, Plants And Women Fighters' will feature the Non Shinanbo collective's works until 26 February. Andrea Fraser's exhibition at Marian Goodman in New York is ongoing from 12 January to 25 February.
