Janet Biggs and Aurélien Bambagioni Show Video Works at Analix Forever
At Analix Forever in Geneva, Janet Biggs and Aurélien Bambagioni present video works until May 27. Biggs, a New York-based artist and 2018 Guggenheim Fellow, debuts her third eclipse-themed video installation "Eclipse, From Utah to Yucatán." The three-screen work contrasts a filmed astronaut in Utah with a Mexican soprano Ileana Munoz singing in a Yucatán cenote, inspired by Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz's poem "Primero Sueño" and ancient Mayan melodies. Biggs connects the eclipse to her mother's Alzheimer's-related sundown syndrome. Bambagioni's trilogy "Origo" includes "Tempus fugit," a short film exploring his vulnerability and the passage of time after turning fifty. Both artists were previously united by Marta Ponsa in the exhibition "Hable con ella, dialogues avec l'IA" at Jeu de Paume. Bambagioni was a resident artist of Jeu de Paume's online creation space in 2025.
