Jan Fabre's 24-hour Mount Olympus streams free for Romaeuropa's 35th
Romaeuropa Festival will stream Jan Fabre's monumental 24-hour performance Mount Olympus. To glorify the cult of tragedy for free on June 14-15, 2020, marking the festival's 35th edition. The date coincides with the first Romaeuropa show on June 14, 1986 at Villa Medici. The original Mount Olympus premiered at the festival in 2015 at Teatro Argentina. The stream runs from 8pm June 14 to June 15 on the festival's website, featuring full video recordings by Jan Fabre – Troubleyn and produced by La compagnie des Indes. The performance involves 27 performers including musicians, dancers, and actors. The 2020 Romaeuropa Festival is scheduled from September 23 to November 22, with a revised program to be announced in July due to COVID-19 restrictions. The festival was founded and chaired by Monique Veaute and is currently directed by Fabrizio Grifasi.
