Jan Fabre performance retrospective at MAC Lyon

The MAC Lyon presents a major retrospective of Jan Fabre's performances, featuring 800 objects including photographs, costumes, sets, sculptures, drawings, assemblages, collages, and videos. The exhibition, first staged at MAXXI in 2013, emphasizes Fabre's theoretical framework linking art and the world, performance and social space. Fabre opened the Lyon retrospective with an hour-long bike ride at the city's velodrome while eating raw steaks. The show also includes 'Wall drawings-Icōnes urbaines' curated by Julien Malland and Hervé Perdriolle, featuring ten street artists, and 'Le bonheur de deviner peu à peu' with works from the museum's collection, including pieces by Eduardo Basualdo, Cai Guo-Qiang, Ilya Kabakov, Mel Ramos, and Jean-Luc Parant. The retrospective runs until January 15, 2017.
