Jamie Hewlett and Tanino Liberatore headline Comicon 2025 in Naples

Comicon 2025, the 25th edition of the Naples-based comics and games festival, will take place from May 1 to 4 at the Mostra d'Oltremare. The event's poster is designed by Jamie Hewlett, co-creator of Gorillaz, featuring his character Murphy. British artist Hewlett is known for his work with Damon Albarn. The festival will honor Tanino Liberatore as Magister with a solo exhibition titled 'Drawing Power. The art of Liberatore,' curated to showcase his career from Ranxerox to fashion and film work. Altan will receive a Special Career Award. International guests include Jon J. Muth, Arthur De Pins, James Harren, and Thomas Taylor, who illustrated the first British edition of Harry Potter. Eighteen exhibitions are planned, including a retrospective on Clément Lefèvre titled 'I riflessi dei sogni. L’arte incantata di Clément Lefèvre.' A special exhibition, 'Star Wars Made in Italy,' gathers Italian Star Wars artists for the first time. 'Napoli: fumetto destination' explores Naples' role in Italian comics history, from early experiments to Ciccillo. The festival expects attendance similar to last year's 175,000 tickets. Comicon began in 1998 at Castel Sant'Elmo and expanded to Bergamo in 2023.
