Jameson has released Distiller's Batch, a single pot still Irish whiskey, in the United States. Previously available in Ireland and the U.K. as Jameson Single Pot Still, this new expression marks a departure from the brand's core blended whiskey, showcasing a traditional style that is both complex and rooted in Irish distilling heritage. The whiskey is produced at the Midleton Distillery near Cork, Ireland, under the guidance of master distiller Kevin O'Gorman. It is aged in five different cask types: ex-bourbon, Oloroso sherry, and virgin Irish, European, and American oak, contributing to its rich flavor profile. Tasting notes include vanilla, spice, fruit, dark and milk chocolate, nutmeg, cinnamon, honey, maple, and ripe stone fruit, with a creamy mouthfeel and tannic oak undertones. The release aims to attract consumers who have only tried regular Jameson, broadening their appreciation for Irish whiskey. Critic Jonah Flicker, writing for Robb Report, gave the whiskey a score of 90-94, describing it as 'Great' and praising its complexity and balance. The whiskey is legally aged for at least three years, though the exact maturation period is undisclosed.
