Jakob + MacFarlane's catwalk set for French design showcase in Milan

During Milan Design Week, French architecture studio Jakob + MacFarlane created a wooden catwalk for 'Le Design Défilé', an exhibition organized by French Living in Motion (an alliance between L’Ameublement Français and Le FRENCH DESIGN). The set cuts through indoor and outdoor spaces in Brera, displaying 53 pieces by 28 designers and brands. The runway concept reframes furniture as couture, emphasizing movement and the body. Architect Brendan MacFarlane described the continuous 'parcours' as a choreographed journey. The show features emerging designers like APPRT2, Bérénice Curt, and established manufacturers Ligne Roset and Fermob. Designer Franck Genser presented works including the 'Cascade' alabaster floor lamp, 'Scarf' armchair, and 'Brutaliste' table. Genser also showed a table with Louis Vuitton elsewhere at the fair. The exhibition aims to give furniture a clearer stage amid spectacle-driven installations.
