Jaime Lauriano's 'Here is the End of the World' at MAR

The exhibition 'Jaime Lauriano – Aqui é o fim do mundo' (Here is the End of the World) is on view at the Museu de Arte do Rio (MAR) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, until October 1, 2023. Curated by Marcelo Campos and Amanda Bonan, the show brings together over forty works produced between 2008 and 2023, including four new commissions created specifically for the exhibition. Lauriano's practice revisits Brazil's past and its connection to the current political context, engaging with the country's history and shifting narratives. The artist notes that his work is intrinsically linked to a movement rethinking Brazilian art history, with pieces included in important anthologies on alternative histories of Brazil.
