Jacob Hashimoto and Emil Lukas Transform Palazzo Flangini for Venice Biennale
Opening May 9, 2017, at Palazzo Flangini on the Grand Canal in Venice, the exhibition 'The End of Utopia' features American artists Jacob Hashimoto and Emil Lukas, presented by Studio la Città of Verona. Hashimoto installs a site-specific floating sculpture of 8,500 black paper-and-bamboo kites suspended from the ceiling on the ground floor. Lukas presents three interconnected series—Lens, Puddles, Threads—including 650 aluminum tubes assembled into a giant lens in the first-floor salon. The show runs through July 2017, coinciding with the Venice Biennale.
