Jack Kerouac's Beatific Journals Published in French
A new French translation of Jack Kerouac's notebooks from 1947 to 1954, titled "Journaux de bord. 1947-1954", has been published by Gallimard in its "L'Infini" series. Translated by Pierre Guglielmina, the volume compiles the spiral-bound notes and pocket notebooks Kerouac kept while traveling across America, riding trams to New York, or writing at his desk. The original English title is "Jack Kerouac. Béatifique", and the work was reviewed in artpress n°430 (February 2016, p. 80). The notebooks capture the raw material that later fueled his iconic novel "On the Road".
