JACE's 'Cœur Sensible' Immersive Exhibition at Mathgoth Gallery in Paris
Street artist JACE presents his ninth solo show at Mathgoth Gallery, occupying a temporary 300+ sqm space near Bibliothèque François Mitterrand in Paris. The free exhibition, titled 'Cœur Sensible,' is structured in three parts: a critique of contemporary society using reclaimed urban materials, a commemoration of the Chernobyl disaster 40 years later featuring photographs from his 2019 trip to Prypiat, and a reflection on love as a necessary act. JACE created 26 original frescoes in Prypiat, one of the few artists granted access. The show includes a documentary film by Sami Chalak, a limited-edition sculpture, and about forty 60x60 cm linen paintings. JACE, born in Le Havre in 1973 and raised in Réunion, invented his signature character Gouzou in 1992. The character has appeared in over 40 countries and on four continents. The exhibition runs at 5 Rue Françoise Giroud, Paris 13e.
