J.MAYER H. Transforms Historic Berlin Apartment into MOM Residence
J.MAYER H. has completed the MOM Apartment, a residential renovation within a historic 1900 Berlin building. The project, finished in 2025, reimagines a home in a structure originally noted for its innovative floor plans, which deviated from standardized housing typologies. Lead architect Jürgen Mayer headed the design team, which included Marcus Blum as project manager and designers Lilly Czok and Elina Kolarova. Art installations were contributed by Björn Dahlem and Christian Jankowski. The project was curated by Hadir Al Koshta and photographed by Frank Sperling. The building's original design featured unique layouts for each apartment, a distinction that informed the renovation approach.
