Iwan Rheon on BBC Thriller The Rapture and Climate Resonance

Iwan Rheon, known for Game of Thrones, stars alongside Ruth Madeley in the new BBC psychological thriller series The Rapture, based on Liz Jensen's novel. The show is set during a heatwave, but filming in south Wales last autumn required heavy moisturizer to simulate sweat due to the actual 'changeable' weather. Rheon noted the series resonates with today's world as global temperatures rise. The plot follows forensic psychologist Dr. Gabriele Fox (Madeley) who meets 17-year-old Bethany Krall (India Amarteifio), convicted of murdering her mother but claiming innocence and psychic powers. The cast also includes Ruth Jones. Produced by Mammoth Screen (part of ITV Studios) for BBC iPlayer and BBC One, the series received support from the Welsh government via Creative Wales. Rheon, who grew up in Cardiff, has been filming three new productions in Wales, including the sci-fi comedy Out There with Michael Sheen and the film Mountain directed by Celyn Jones, set in 1980s Wales. All episodes of The Rapture are now available on BBC iPlayer.
