IULM University in Milan Hosts Original Leonardo da Vinci Codex Atlanticus Pages
IULM University in Milan has opened its new academic year by hosting three original folios from Leonardo da Vinci's Codex Atlanticus, on loan from the Veneranda Biblioteca Ambrosiana, alongside a 15th-century sculpture titled "Santa con libro" from the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo. The exhibition is housed in the Exhibition Hall of IULM 6 and runs until March 10, 2026. This marks the first time these Leonardo folios have been displayed at a university. The selected pages focus on technology and mechanics, a central theme in Leonardo's work. University rector Valentina Garavaglia stated that the display is "an invitation to cultivate a curious, critical, and visionary gaze on reality, because every innovation is born from an intuition, a question, a research that transforms into knowledge." In addition to the Leonardo exhibition, IULM announced new collaborations with the University of Milan (Statale) for the Archeoframe project and two new courses in Science Communication and Science Diplomacy. A new Ravello Tourism, Culture and Music Lab will be launched with Fondazione Ravello and Impresa Cultura Italia. The university also highlighted its civic engagement, including participation in the InZone project in the Azraq and Kakuma refugee camps and membership in the Italian University Network for Peace. Two new solidarity teaching projects are planned: one with Fondazione La Rotonda to combat educational poverty, and another with VIDAS to teach the art of care.
