IULM students curate exhibition at Triennale Milano
For the first time, the annual collaboration between IULM University and Triennale Milano moves the student-curated exhibition from the university to the Triennale's spaces. The exhibition, titled "Roberto Pietrosanti – Giovanni Lindo Ferretti. Non Avere Timore," is entirely curated, organized, and communicated by second-year students of the Master's degree program in Arts, Heritage, and Markets, under the critical coordination of Anna Luigia De Simone and with support from Triennale staff. The show features works by artist Roberto Pietrosanti and Giovanni Lindo Ferretti, founder of the punk band CCCP, exploring the theme of voice as an atavistic, primordial sound. Ferretti's music and writings merge with Pietrosanti's installations and canvases, contrasting silence and noise. A magazine with an unpublished interview with Pietrosanti, Ferretti, and photographer Leonardo Aquilino, curated by the students, will be published. Vincenzo Trione, dean of the faculty, emphasizes that this is not a simple end-of-course show but a full-fledged exhibition, part of a unique educational path that blends theory and practice. IULM is the only Italian university offering such direct field experience in prestigious institutions, with partnerships including Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo and the Israel Museum. The exhibition runs from May 9 to June 10, 2018, at Triennale Milano.
