IULM Students Curate Antonio Biasiucci Exhibition at Triennale Milano

exhibition · 2026-05-05

The Master's program in Arts, Heritage and Markets at IULM University in Milan involves second-year students in a real-world curatorial project, culminating in an exhibition at the university's own exhibition space, IULM OPEN SPACE, in partnership with Triennale Milano. This year's show, titled 'Riti,' focuses on Antonio Biasiucci (born 1961 in Caserta) and his exploration of ritual through black-and-white photography. The exhibition traces Biasiucci's career from the 1980s to recent works, highlighting his use of photography to depict universal themes of life, death, and birth, influenced by avant-garde theater and his mentor, director Antonio Neiwiller. Vincenzo Trione, dean of the program, notes that IULM is the only Italian academic institution offering students a prestigious on-campus exhibition space, a model praised by Chus Martínez, director of the FHNW Academy of Art and Design in Basel. The exhibition runs from May 4 to July 28, 2017.
