IUAV Tributes Giancarlo De Carlo with Diffuse Exhibition Across Venice Campuses
To celebrate its 90th anniversary (1926–2016), IUAV University of Venice is hosting a multi-location exhibition in honor of architect Giancarlo De Carlo. This event, taking place at Tolentini and Santa Marta, features a reimagined version of a 2015 Triennale exhibition, curated by his daughter Anna De Carlo alongside Giacomo Polin, which includes never-before-seen sketches. The exhibition consists of three smaller displays utilizing materials from the IUAV Projects Archive, particularly the Giancarlo De Carlo fund. Open until January 11, 2017, it highlights design drawings, photographs from renowned photographers, and three-dimensional models. De Carlo's intricate relationship with IUAV includes becoming a full professor in 1972, departing for the University of Genoa in the early 1980s, and reconciling in 1998.
