IUAD students win international awards for accessory design

Two students from IUAD Accademia della Moda in southern Italy have won international awards for their accessory designs. Raffaella Petraccaro, a third-year Fashion Design student, won the Innovation Artefact by Crisden prize in Product Design at London Graduate Fashion Week for her collection 'Homo Homini Lupus Est'. The collection features handcrafted leather and fur accessories with utilitarian elements, including briefcase-style bags and sneakers with square micro-studded soles. Giovanni Matola, a master's student in Accessory Design, won first prize in leather goods at the Intreccincantiere International Contest 2021, organized by Manifattura di Domodossola in collaboration with Lineapelle and Gruppo BPM. His prototype will be industrialized by Manifattura di Domodossola for its Athison brand, in partnership with Mirta. IUAD is a private higher education institution accredited by MIUR, offering three-year bachelor's programs in Fashion Design, Interior Design, and Visual Communication, with a specialized Footwear and Leather Goods Department.
