Ithra Art Prize 6th Edition Partners with Royal Commission for AlUla
Farah Abushullaih, who leads the Museums division at the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra), highlighted the sixth iteration of the Ithra Art Prize and the center's partnership with the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU). This collaboration emphasizes outdoor installation art and sculpture, themed 'Art in the Landscape,' a choice made by RCU reflecting AlUla’s designation as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Open to contemporary artists and collectives from 22 Arab nations, the prize awards USD 100,000 to the winner, along with potential production funding of up to USD 400,000. A panel of experts in landscape and public art will judge the entries, with the winning piece showcased at the AlUla Arts Festival in February, later joining Ithra’s permanent collection. Additionally, the partnership will promote filmmaking and research to enhance creative sectors in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
