Italy's National Family Day at Museums Returns for Ninth Edition
On October 9, 2022, Italy's National Family Day at Museums, known as F@Mu, celebrates its ninth edition, with more than 800 museums participating by providing educational visits and themed events. The focus this year is "Diversi ma Uguali" (Different but Equal), highlighting the importance of diversity for social inclusion. The Istituto dei Ciechi di Milano is hosting the event, which includes games featuring Geronimo Stilton and Rai presenter Mario Acampa. The Associazione Famiglie al Museo organizes the initiative, with backing from Fondazioni CRT, Paideia di Torino, and others. At MArTA, director Eva Degl'Innocenti spotlights families and archaeological heritage. Activities range from guided tours and coin labs to concerts, treasure hunts, organ donation initiatives, and the reopening of Milan's iLab Area dei Piccoli for children aged 3–10.
