Italy's June-July Art Prize Winners Announced
In June and July 2023, Italy honored a variety of cultural achievements. Beatrice Favaretto was recognized with the VI Premio Lydia for her contemporary art piece, HDMW – Hold Me While I’m Naked. Edward Burtynsky was awarded the XXV Premio Pino Pascali for his work on the effects of industrialization. The Premio Davide Vignali was presented to Milo Spaggiari (first), Iacopo Verri (second), and Camilla Bondioli (third), while Roxana Gabriela Martau received the Premio Venturi. Nairy Baghramian was honored with the reinstated Premio Nivola per la scultura at a ceremony scheduled for September 16, 2023. Karima Duchamp won the XXX Concorso di Ceramica Contemporanea Mediterraneo, and Bea Bonafini took home the ALA Art Prize. Valery Poshtarov was granted the Cortona On The Move Award. Additionally, at the XIV Florence Biennale from October 14–22, David LaChapelle and Santiago Calatrava will be celebrated with career awards.
