Italy’s Farnesina Collection seeks curators for international exhibition project

The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has issued a public call for curators active in the visual arts to develop an exhibition project promoting contemporary Italian art abroad. The initiative aims to valorize the Farnesina Collection, the ministry’s contemporary art collection established 25 years ago as a soft power tool. Selected curators must involve artists from the collection, ensure the exhibition is itinerant, and produce a printed catalog. Applications must be submitted by 12:00 PM Italian time on October 31, 2024, following the procedures outlined in Article 5 of the call. Inquiries can be directed to the Directorate General for Public and Cultural Diplomacy – Unit for the Coordination of Italian Cultural Institutes via email, with the subject line “Name Surname – Request info Avviso Curatela CF MAECI 24.” The call is part of broader efforts to strengthen Italy’s cultural diplomacy through contemporary art.
