Italy's Culture Ministry Seeks 1,000 Volunteers for Cultural Heritage

The Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities (Mibact) has launched three calls for applications to select over 1,200 volunteers for the National Civil Service. Two of these calls specifically target cultural heritage roles, placing volunteers in 215 museums, libraries, archives, and ministerial offices. The largest call seeks 1,050 volunteers, with 1,000 allocated to 116 self-funded projects by Mibact. Another call for 110 volunteers under the Garanzia Giovani program will place 71 individuals in 13 projects focused on the protection, enjoyment, and enhancement of cultural heritage. Volunteers will serve 12 months, receiving a monthly allowance of €433.80. Applicants must be under 28, not have previously served in civil service (unless under Garanzia Giovani), and have no employment or collaboration with the hosting institution. Each candidate may apply to only one project but can also submit a parallel application for Garanzia Giovani projects. Applications must be submitted by 2:00 PM on February 10, 2017, via the online form on the National Civil Service website.
