other · 2026-04-27

Italy has launched the ALAS unemployment insurance for self-employed workers in the entertainment sector, as part of the sostegni-bis decree overseen by INPS. This initiative addresses involuntary unemployment in a sector severely affected by the pandemic, offering benefits for up to six months at 75% of the average monthly earnings. Culture Minister Dario Franceschini remarked that this program addresses a significant need for those in the arts and entertainment fields. INPS President Pasquale Tridico highlighted the importance of collaboration in rolling out this initiative. To qualify, applicants must be self-employed in artistic or technical positions, have no current employment, not receive pensions or citizenship income, possess a minimum of 15 days of contributions to the Entertainment Workers Pension Fund, and earn no more than €35,000 annually.
