institutional · 2026-04-27

Italy's Ministry of Culture, through its Directorate General for Contemporary Creativity, has allocated €225,000 to support the Nuovo Grand Tour residency program, a Franco-Italian initiative launched in 2022 by the Institut Français Italia and the French Embassy in Italy. The program offers 50 Italian artists and creatives under 30 the opportunity to undertake residencies in France between autumn 2023 and spring 2024, hosted by 25 approved residency centers across the country. The call is open to all creative industries: visual arts, performing arts, fashion, design, architecture, landscape, gastronomy, and craftsmanship. Applications must be submitted by August 31, 2023. The initiative is part of the Fund for the Enhancement of Italian Culture and Language Abroad (2022-2024), led by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation through the Italian Cultural Institute in Paris. The program revives the 19th-century Grand Tour tradition, focusing on research and artistic practice without production constraints.
