Italy allocates €80 million for Foro Italico redevelopment in Rome
The Italian government has set aside €80 million to revamp the Foro Italico in Rome, a site established during the Fascist period and the venue for the 1960 Olympics. Minister for Youth Policies Fabiana Dadone announced this funding, which is intended to prepare the area for the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics and to commemorate Rome's 150th anniversary as the capital of Italy. The redevelopment will encompass the Parco del Foro Italico, Stadio dei Marmi, and various other facilities, aiming to create a digital community center. This project will be executed in partnership with Paolo Vicchiarello, Giovanni Panebianco, and Vito Cozzoli. Originally opened in 1932 as Foro Mussolini, the complex was designed by Enrico Del Debbio and renamed in the 1980s.
