Italian Theatre Festivals to Watch in June 2024

The summer live performance season in Italy for 2024 will showcase several outdoor locations, including the Teatro Grande di Pompei and Arena Shakespeare in Parma. Notable highlights include: "Pluto. God of Gold" at Pompei on May 25-26, under the direction of Marco Martinelli, featuring 120 local teenagers; the XII Cross Festival in Verbania, running from May 25 to June 2, with a theme of 'Space for the Soul' and over forty participating artists; Primavera dei Teatri in Castrovillari from May 23 to June 2, presenting more than 55 events along with a new platform called PRIMA; Verdecoprente Umbria Fest starting May 25, offering performative walks; Arena Shakespeare in Parma, opening June 11 with TUTU and various artists; and the Inteatro Festival in Polverigi and Ancona from June 18-23, led by Velia Papa.
