Italian Summer Film Festivals 2023: From Pesaro to Venice

The 59th Mostra Internazionale del Nuovo Cinema di Pesaro, under the direction of Pedro Armocida, is taking place until June 24, kicking off with Flashdance. Special tributes are being held for Liliana Cavani, Mario Martone, and Giuseppe Tornatore, in collaboration with the Fondazione Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia – Cineteca Nazionale. Following this, the inaugural Tropea Film Festival, directed by Emanuele Bertucci from June 26 to July 2, will honor Massimo Troisi and welcome guests such as Pupi Avati. The Conero Film Festival, scheduled for June 30 to July 1 and led by Enrico Vanzina, will celebrate Italian cinema from the 1980s. The 13th Social World Film Festival in Vico Equense, from July 2 to 9, pays tribute to Gina Lollobrigida. The 53rd Giffoni Film Festival, set for July 20 to 29, will include over 6,500 jurors. Finally, the Locarno Film Festival (August 2–12) and the 80th Venice Film Festival (August 30–September 9) will follow.
