Italian streamers launch Tomodachi Press publishing house

Italian streamers Dario Moccia, Davide Masella, and Luca Molinaro announced the founding of a new publishing house, Tomodachi Press, in early February via Instagram. The press will focus on comics, board games, illustrated books, and trading cards, emphasizing limited annual productions with artisanal attention to detail, aesthetics, quality, and experimentation. Its first project is Cuphead – Out of the Cards, a collectible card set based on the 2017 video game Cuphead by Canadian studio Studio MDHR, known for its 1930s cartoon style and five million copies sold; a Netflix series launched in 2022. Each pack contains seven cards, with twenty packs per box; pre-orders begin February 18. Moccia, 34, with 345k Instagram and 670k Twitch followers, previously released trading card sets Lore (2021) and Monsters (2023) with Panini Comics, and co-curated Disney Anthology with Disney cartoonist Claudio Sciarrone. He stated that major Italian publishers rejected their proposals, leading them to found Tomodachi Press to handle the projects themselves.
