Italian State Acquires Richard Ginori Museum in Doccia

Culture Minister Dario Franceschini announced during the G7 Culture meeting in Florence that the Italian government will take ownership of the Museo di Doccia, ensuring the preservation of over 200 years of Richard Ginori's legacy. The acquisition, anticipated before summer, includes the museum's building and its collections located in Sesto Fiorentino, with backing from the Florentine Industrialists' Association and Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze. Umberto Tombari, President of the Foundation, noted that restoration funding hinges on a sustainable management strategy. This decision comes after two unsuccessful auctions and a public petition. Currently, the historical porcelain collection is showcased at the Mic in Faenza and the Museo del Bargello, with the exhibition "La fabbrica della bellezza" running from May 18 to October 1, 2017.
