Italian relational artist Laura Cionci dies at 42
Laura Cionci (Rome, 1980 – Rome 2022), a performer and relational artist, passed away after a prolonged struggle with cancer that began in 2015. In 2020, she released 'Stato di Grazia' (Postmedia Books), which delved into the concept of illness as a means of transformation. Her performance 'Stringersi' received the Best Artist of 2021 award from Artribune, showcased at the 'Fragile' exhibition at Monitor gallery in Rome. Cionci was a co-founder of Waiting Posthuman Studio alongside Azzurra Muzzonigro and Leonardo Caffo. In 2018, she journeyed to Colombia and Brazil to study magical rituals, and from 2019 to 2020, she organized a trip to Uluru in Australia. Her 2021 exhibition 'Prove di (ri)esistenza' included a multisensory watercolor circle. She is remembered alongside Salvatore Iaconesi (1973).
