Italian paintbrush maker Pennelli Cinghiale teams up with design brand Seletti for collectible objects

architecture-design · 2026-04-27

Italian paintbrush manufacturer Pennelli Cinghiale, founded in 1945 by Commendatore Alfredo Boldrini, has collaborated with design brand Seletti, founded in 1964 by Romano Seletti, to create a collection of paintbrushes, rollers, and paint cans reimagined as design objects. The collection, titled SELETTI painted by PENNELLI CINGHIALE, features pop and colorful graphics with leaf, polka dot, and stripe patterns, transforming work tools into decorative items meant for reuse. The collaboration was driven by the companies' shared geographic origin in Cicognara, province of Mantua, and a mutual focus on everyday objects with irony. Eleonora Calavalle, CEO of Pennelli Cinghiale and granddaughter of Alfredo Boldrini, stated the idea came from observing how many household objects resemble paint cans, giving a second chance to paints entering Italian homes. Stefano Seletti, artistic director of Seletti and son of Romano, noted the project stems from a deep affinity between the companies, combining product research with irony. The collection is available through both brands' websites.
