Italian museums offer special March initiatives including free entry, night openings, and videomapping
Italian museums are launching a series of special initiatives in March 2023, beyond the usual free admission on the first Sunday (March 5). Highlights include: Palazzo dei Diamanti in Ferrara hosting a videomapping show on its diamond-tip facade from March 3 to 5, with extended hours until midnight; the Galleria Sabauda in Turin presenting the recently acquired painting "Concerto a due figure" by Antiveduto Gramatica (1569-1626), reunited with its counterpart "Suonatore di Tiorba" after centuries, on view until March 5; Palazzo Reale in Milan extending hours until 10:30 PM from March 7 to 12 for the Bosch exhibition, featuring the monumental "Trittico delle Tentazioni di Sant'Antonio" on loan from Portugal for the first time in Italy; and the Gallerie Estensi in Modena launching a transparent conservation program where restorers work publicly on the 427 exhibited pieces, allowing visitor interaction. Additionally, Milano MuseoCity runs from March 3 to 5.
