Italian museums and archaeological sites extend evening hours for summer 2017

During the summer of 2017, ten Italian museums and archaeological sites are enhancing their evening offerings with extended hours and special night visits, thanks to new LED lighting. Pompei's 'Pompei di Notte' provides guided tours every Tuesday and Thursday from 9 to 11 PM until August 24. Ercolano will host Friday evening visits through October 6. The Ancient Theatre in Taormina has LED strips for nighttime access. Ravenna's 'Mosaico di notte' opens UNESCO sites every Tuesday and Friday from 9 to 11 PM until August 29. Pisa's Piazza dei Miracoli will remain open until 10 PM. Agrigento's Valley of the Temples will have evening hours from July 15-30 and August 1 to September 17. The Roman Forum in Rome will be open until midnight on Fridays, while the Vatican Museums will extend their hours until 11 PM every Friday in July. Milan's Pirelli HangarBicocca showcases Rosa Barba's exhibit until 10 PM. Turin's Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo presents 'Le Notti Bianche' on Thursdays from 8 to 11 PM. Additionally, Bergamo's Accademia Carrara will have special midnight openings on select dates. Mario Nanni recently unveiled a light installation in Segrate, showcasing the beauty of monuments at twilight.
