institutional · 2026-04-27

The Italian Ministry of Culture (MiC), in collaboration with the National School of Administration (SNA) and the Fondazione Scuola dei beni e delle attività culturali, has launched a public competition to recruit 50 second-level technical managers. The course-competition, published in the Italian Official Gazette, offers 75 admission spots for a training program that will select 50 managers across three areas: archives and libraries (16 managers from 24 trainees), superintendencies for archaeology, fine arts, and landscape (24 managers from 36 trainees), and museums (10 managers from 15 trainees). The program lasts up to twelve months, including an internship at the MiC. Participants receive a scholarship from the Fondazione, while public employees retain their salary. Applications are accepted online via SPID until December 28. This initiative marks the first time such a procedure is applied in this ministry, enabling archivists, archaeologists, anthropologists, architects, librarians, and art historians to compete for leadership roles in archives, libraries, museums, and superintendencies.
